Junk Food means Junk Mood

You are what you eat, Right?  Actually, the original quote states, “Tell me what you eat and I will tell you who you are.”  But Pittsburgher Lindsey Smith, Certified Health Coach author of “Junk Foods & Junk Mood” and “Bliss Cleanse” as seen on WTAE yesterday might be onto something.  Lindsey told news anchor Michelle Wright that sugar, caffeine, and gluten can affect our emotional well being in addition to our heath.  If you have celiac or have issues with wheat barley or rye, I don’t need to tell you twice what she is talking about.  There is good news however, because there are foods that Lindsey suggests that eating blueberries, leafy greens and dark chocolate can improve our moods.  Now who wouldn’t like news like that.  To find out more about Lindsey please follow the link below and take a look at her recipe for a Green Smoothie. 

Here’s the recipe for Smith’s green smoothie:
-1/2 cup of chopped greens (spinach, kale, dandelion or another favorite green)
-1 banana
-1/2 cup almond or rice milk
-Blend and enjoy!
